We are proud to announce that Andreas Faoro has received the prestigious 13th European Urban and Regional Planning Award for the Parma General Urban Plan (PR050). As a special mention, this award, presented in Brussels in November 2025, is a testament to the exceptional work on PR050, making it the only urban plan in Europe to be recognized.

From the jury statement: The Parma Plan seeks to integrate climate adaptation into its framework and introduces innovative regulatory mechanisms. This is an excellent example of ‘hacking the system’ by using traditional tools for new purposes. Planning systems will not change overnight. Therefore, planners must adapt old instruments for new purposes. This plan is a perfect example of that.
This Plan introduces new planning tools and mechanisms to encourage regeneration and reduce land consumption.
The jury found Parma’s plan an example of a new generation of European Urban Planning: Parma 2050 translates global agendas into measurable, transformative local actions
In this framework, Jury is making Parma a pioneer in the implementation of innovative strategies for sustainable urban development. Particularly, interesting the “net zero” soil take principle is addressed through innovative mechanisms and Eco-districts.
